WP Vault 0.7.1 released!

Version 0.7.1 of WP Vault is released! Made it in time for the contest deadline…:)

This is a bug fix release, which mainly fixes the problem when using WP Vault on WordPress installation that’s not located at the root.

You can get it at Download page.

If you already have 0.7 installed, simply copy over all files with 0.7.1 files to update.

If you have 0.5, please follow the instruction on 0.7.

Bugs in WP Vault 0.7

Of course, no software can be bug free…and WP Vault is no exception…

I found that when WordPress installation is not used at the root of a domain, WP Vault doesn’t work very well. I don’t think I can get it fixed today, but I’ll get this fixed up as soon as I can.

Also, Dotan Dimet (thanks!) has informed me that he encountered whole sort of problems when using the plugin with Firefox in Ubuntu. Unfortunately, I don’t have Ubuntu machine (virtual or otherwise) available to me to test this…all my tests have been done on Window versions of browsers. If anyone else can run WP Vault under Ubuntu and give me as much information as possible, I’d greatly appreciate it.

WordPress Plugin Competition coming to an end…

I think many of you found this site and WP Vault through WordPress Plugin Competition Blog. Well, the competition is coming to an end. I have put as much as time and effort as I could to my entry, now I am going to be hoping for the best.

For better or for worse, I haven’t heard much in term of bug report on WP Vault.

This could mean several things. This could mean that not many people had chance to know of, or install, WP Vault. Well, I am trying to remove that possibility by submitting the plugin to the official WordPress Plugin Repository, so more people are exposed to it.

On more optimistic view, maybe I covered the feature set so well that there isn’t much to tell me…? And that I tested the software so well that there aren’t much of bugs to be seen by public…? I do pride myself being a kind of programmer who rarely release an unstable code after all.

Blah…yeah, right. But I can dream…

Seriously, though…I would appreciate any feedback on WP Vault, both positive and negative.

Oh yeah, please take time to rate WP Vault, especially if you like it!
