I’ve been working on WP Vault 0.8.6, and I think it’s close to being release ready.

However, with WordPress 2.3 just around the corner, I think I’ll hold off the release of this version until I verify that the new version of WP Vault will work with both WP 2.3 and 2.2.  In fact, I expect some problem with the current WP Vault on WP 2.3 because of its change with category structure that I’ve been hearing about.

This will take some extra time, but I think it’s better this way in a long run.

I don’t know if anyone noticed, but this site was not accessible for about two whole days.  Well, it’s back up.

Apparently, the hosting company was a victim of a hack attack, and while they recovered all the files and database (phew!), they lost some information, which caused some sub domains not to work.

WP Vault version 0.8.5 is released! This update is a bug fix release, as described in previous post.

If you had already applied the patch to your 0.8.5 installation, there is no need to install this version.

Shortly after the release of 0.8.5, I realized there are few annoying bug, so I decided to fix them quickly. The following is the list of fixes:

• There was an issue with the display option in link manager. While the database was being updated correctly, the front end kept getting the data from cache. This is corrected. If you didn’t use caching, you wouldn’t have noticed this issue.
• PNG images were not loaded properly only for the first time it was being accessed.
• Implementation of cookie caused some weird issue when navigating to another page right after updating in link manager, then getting back to it.

I’ll create the full 0.8.5.1 file with changes implemented, but for the time being, the patch contains only the files with changes. Simply copy over the files in version 0.8.5 with the content of zip file.

WP Vault 0.8.1.1 is released!

This release fixes the critical bug reported earlier.

If you are using version 0.8 or 0.8.1, please update as soon as possible, even if you applied the patch (that was a quick fix, just to get around the problem).

There is a bug in caching pages, which prevents published images to display correctly. I’ll get this fixed as soon as possible. But for now, you can do one of the followings to get around the bug:

1. Disable WordPress caching in wp-config.php file.
2. Get the patch from the Download page, and overwrite the included file with the old one. EDIT: Please simply update to 0.8.1.1.  I removed the patch from the Download page.

I apologize for the inconvenience…

If you are not using WordPress caching anyways, then you don’t have to worry about it.
